Michaela is a criminal barrister who thrives on getting the best results possible for her clients. Michaela previously worked in Banking, Finance and Insolvency.
Being of Ngāi Tahu descent (Te Taumutu Rūnanga), Michaela has a special interest in issues that affect Māori. Conscious of the social issues that drive crime, Michaela is known to go the extra mile to improve outcomes for her clients.
Michaela has experience advocating for vulnerable clients under the Criminal Procedure (Mentally Impaired Persons) Act and is in the process of expanding her practice to include mental health law generally. She will also accept legally aided clients in family and civil law.
